Civilised majority don't support hunting

CONTRARY to the impression given by the coverage of the Boxing Day meet of the Heythrop Hunt (Hundreds show support for local hunt, Oxford Mail, December 29), bloodsports do not find favour in the overwhelming majority of the British public.

That is why the Hunting Act was passed by Parliament and why any attempt to repeal the Act would meet with the same strong opposition from those of us who have moved on and up the tree of evolution, enjoying the fruits of compassion and beauty rather than the gory entrails of the victims of the despised sport of hunting.
