So Councillor John Tanner is against the cuts (ViewPoints, November 16).
Could this be the same John Tanner who is so eagerly is making a 20 per cent cut in the city council budget, closing Temple Cowley because Labour can’t afford it, while cutting services and putting council staff in the dole queue ?
Could this be another ‘Tannerism’. We saw the last one with the war in Iraq and Afghanistan when he belatedly spoke out about how disgraceful and unjust the wars were.
Unfortunately, in practical terms, his vote and all his political activities were to support the warmongers in the Labour Party who were promoting the war.
I always find him amazing.
He wants desperately to be loved by the left but actually votes with the right.
