through your letters page can I, on behalf of the all-volunteer organising committee of the Abingdon Air & Country Charity Show, say a very big thank you to everyone who supported the show in May.

With your help we were able to donate £7,000 to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.

To all the volunteers who set up and took down the show site, all the participants (airborne and ground-bound), all the suppliers of equipment, all the traders and exhibitors and, most of all, the visiting public – thank you for your support in 2009.

Have a very merry Christmas and here’s hoping we can welcome you to the 11th Abingdon Air & Country Charity Show on May 2, 2010 Colin Smith, Orwell Drive, Didcot
