Derek Honey says there is no evidence to prove that passive smoking is as dangerous as experts make out.

I would say there is living evidence. In 1989, I was diagnosed with throat cancer - often termed the smoker's cancer.

A doctor would not believe that I had never smoked, but it was a fact that in two careers, I had been subject to working with heavy smokers around me.

Fortunately, after very painful radiotherapy, I was cured, but I would not wish that experience on anyone.
