ALONG with Tony Greenfield (Oxford Mail, Letters November 15), I too am surprised at the lack of interest in becoming a parish councillor at Blackbird Leys.
Tony praises the chairman of the Leys’ Gordon Roper and quite rightly so. I have met Ann Booker many times at the repatriations at the Final Turn. She is very dedicated in her role as a long-serving councillor.
Tony goes on to mention that the parish council of Old Marston has a full contingent of 12 councillors. It is set in stone that if any councillor misses six monthly meetings in succession then that councillor is off the parish council.
