I WAS dismayed and saddened to see that a recent survey showed that about 30 per cent of young people think that wearing a poppy is glorifying war.

Who is feeding them this complete fabrication? One can only assume that it is some of the trendy liberal adults who teach them in the schools and colleges.

I have no doubt that Corbyn’s cohorts of snarling lefties are also poisoning the minds of these young people. After all, he considered the Act of Remembrance to mark the start of the First World War a waste of money.

It is about time that the Government stepped in and made sure that all know of the sacrifices made by the First World War and Second World War generations but also of those who have fallen in conflicts since. The young owe their freedom to these and should be able to show respect on November 11 and wear the Red Poppy with pride and humility and by donating for a poppy they are helping those veterans, widows and families who need it.

I for one would be happy to enter schools and colleges to put the message across. I am writing to you all in the hope you will take this on.
