'TRUTH is the first casualty of war,’ according to historians; I would also add that in our PC-controlled world, only the brave are bold enough to speak the truth about our Parliament’s foreign policy interventions in the Arab world.

The truth is that our Parliament voted to use military action against Afghanistan in 2001, reducing that country and her people to chaos and political mayhem.

If the former Oxford Spires pupil Hussein Yusef, who may have witnessed and was a casualty of our Parliament’s military action in his country of birth, could have been encouraged to understand that the vast majority of the common people of this country actively opposed our Parliamentarians’ desire for destructive war in his country, then perhaps, 20-year-old Mr Yusef, would not be serving a six-and-a-half-year prison sentence for terrorist offences (Oxford Mail, September 26).
