ALMOST every week Cllr ‘Green & Clean’ Tanner is in the news regarding litter, rubbish or fly-tipping urging residents to make sure rubbish bins are properly filled and not overflowing.
A resident recently had a new back gate fitted by the council housing department. Very nice and pretty.
Nearly three weeks later the old door/gate that was dumped by workmen at the end of the garages is still awaiting collection by the council.
It’s a similar story with other rubbish left behind after the council has carried out repairs to its properties.
Surely if their workers fetch materials to a site then they should carry away the rubbish when they finish.
If residents dumped stuff like them they would be guilty of fly-tipping. So how can the council can get away with it?
Three times in the past fortnight residents have asked for the door to be removed.
It’s the start of the third week now. So Cllr Tanner do your job and get it moved.
