WHAT a contrast in the way flooding gets reported around the world.

In parts of India, Bangladesh and Nepal at least 1,200 have died in unusually severe Monsoon flooding.

In Texas, Hurricane Harvey has so far killed 44 people.

But our TVs and newspapers are full of reports about the flooding in the United States.

We have to search for stories about the catastrophic floods in South Asia.

Thank goodness for British Government overseas aid and voluntary groups like Oxfam here in Oxford.

They are both providing muchneeded clean drinking water to flood victims in South Asia.

Man-made global warming is creating more and more extreme weather events.

Is it too much to hope that President Donald Trump will think again about climate change?

We all need to play our part in helping flood victims to rebuild their lives. But a lost life in Bangladesh is worth just as much as a drowned person in Texas.
