Hurrah! Antiques on High has been saved.
It was unthinkable that Oxford would not have had even one antique shop left.
So many important independent shops – Duckers, Gills, Malbys - should have been saved.
I speak to hundreds of our customers each week, over 42 years and this is what the people of Oxford and visitors expect to find here, interesting independants, with at least a nod to antiquity and academia in one of the world’s most important cities.
At the moment one of the No. 2 buses going to Summertown has along its side the words ‘Oxford is Beautiful Head Gently’, greedy landlords – all – take note, we cannot put back what we destroy or can we?
