JOHN Brett (Letters, February 28) correctly states that only 38 per cent of the electorate voted for Brexit, which he says is ‘scarcely an “overwhelming” proportion’.

Could I just remind him that in the 2015 General Election the Conservatives led by David Cameron, the politician who gave the country the opportunity to vote in the European Referendum, won just 24 per cent of the electorate votes.

To slightly amend the heading to his letter “This Government is the will of only 24 per cent of the electorate”.
