I WAS amazed to read that Costa Coffee have submitted plans to put a drive-through outlet in the southern section of the car park in Horspath Driftway Retail Park.

Hopefully the residents and councillors of Headington will be able to block these plans, as it is already a nightmare trying to turn right when exiting the retail park.

The slip-road coming off of the nearby dual carriageway is only yards away from this exit and has a continuous traffic flow, giving shoppers very little chance to get out.

We have Aldi already preparing their new supermarket on this site, which will undoubtedly increase the number of cars coming in and out of the car park.

A neighbour has already written on the Oxford Mail website commenting on this and other local residents have warned that traffic queues would be a nightmare.

I realise that these coffee outlets are very popular all over the country and Oxford has certainly got its fair share of them, but do we really need one here?

I can remember when there was a burger van in the car park that also sold hot drinks which took up very little space at all.

Surely the surrounding shops should consider asking for this back?
