THE Oxford Mail headline on page 8 of Monday July 25 reads “All time high: Recycling stats are rubbish, say Greens”.

The above criticism could be taken seriously if the Greens and other parties on the City Council were not all feeding from the same trough.

They drift along with the status quo fixture of Labour majority on the City Council, and Tory majority on the County Council, regardless of the spurious, subversive action that absolute power extrudes.

It’s up to the Greens and the other parties to stand up for those they are supposed to represent, and to make sure that underhanded deals do not escape severe penalty.

Anything less is false representat- ion, a meaningless form of authority solely for the sale of allowances and expenses funded by the taxpayer.

The ‘Campaign for a Cleaner Greener Oxford’ is a toothless ‘tiger’, but typical of the ‘all say, no do’ of a toothless council willing and able to make homes energy efficient, while totally failing to do so.
