YET again we have had hours of delays, as drivers try to get to the Countryfile Show.
The whole area was paralysed by traffic gridlock, affecting the area for miles around Woodstock.
We hear the same old pronouncements: ‘new measures are being put in place’ or ‘extra stewards are being employed’ etc.
What I would like to see for these large events such as air displays, festivals, concerts and shows, is that promoters should be compelled to clearly display in their publicity the typical length of the delays, getting to and also getting out of, the previous year’s event.
Possibly with a link to a newspaper headline/article from the previous year.
This, I have no doubt would intensely focus their attention on the problem with renewed enthusiasm.
Though I suspect I too could be in for a long wait!
