SO HERE we go again another attack on the Green Belt. When will people realise that this was put in place for a reason, to stop urban sprawl and to prevent communities losing their identity.
On any Friday Abingdon and the surrounding area including the A34 and beyond is paralyzed now, how will adding 900 houses make the situation?
Yes we need housing but that must be on brownfield sites and should be looked at as a national issue rather than continuing to superheat just one area in the South East.
Surely, after Brexit the one thing that we must do is look at this problem affecting the whole of the UK. We must look after all the people not just the fortunate few.
The answer? Build on brownfield sites only move some of the jobs , housing and opportunities to areas other than the South East, this means the North, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland make towns and cities work for the people in them by using redevelopment of unused sites so that people like where they live, this would create thousands of jobs and give the UK the renewal and sense of direction that it so badly needs while preserving Green Belt and this “Green & Pleasant Land”.
