NOT all of us who were members of Save Port Meadow were ‘delighted’ to see the proposals to perhaps clad some of the lower Castle Mill blocks and perhaps partially screen some of the light-polluting windows.
There are those of us who will never stop hoping and saying that these hideous block that blot out our Dreaming Spires and destroy the ambience of Port Meadow and the Thames Towpath and many other celebrated views, will eventually be knocked down or reduced in height. They should never have been built in the first place and all ideas of partial screening etc. are far too little, much too late.
