I had always thought Oxford prided itself as being a place of outstanding beauty and that there was always a “Welcome to Oxford”.
Over the years I have become very disappointed in the approach to Oxford especially from the London direction.
When visitors approach they are met with a very dirty and unsightly approach in that the Headington roundabout area is filthy and has been for a number of years.
There is debris from the various road traffic collisions, litter, piles of grit and gravel against the kerb-stones, uncut verges, vegetation growing in the gullies, dirty road signs just to name a few items.
This has gone on for far too long to be told this problem is due to financial constraints.
I thought first impressions were always the best and created lasting memories but I’m sorry to say that this is not the case any more as this area is a disgrace. Will it ever be cleaned? I doubt it.
