WITH regard to the Headington Access transport plan, I have studied the plans for the junctions of Marsh Lane, Cherwell Drive, Marston Road and Headley Way whereby the plan is to put traffic lights at these points. What a complete and utter waste of money.

The alterations that have been completed recently on Frideswide Square has been hugely successful in keeping the traffic flowing, but they want to do the complete opposite in Marston. This will not make the slightest bit of difference to the horrendous traffic jams trying to get up Headley Way, especially on a Tuesday morning.

I suggest that whoever came up with this idea gets in their car, joins the traffic on the Marston flyover and sits in it until they eventually arrive at the John Radcliffe Hospital. They will see that the traffic jam ends there.

The problem is and always will be the cars trying to park at the JR. Until multi-storey or underground parking facilities are built at the hospital to accommodate these cars nothing will change.
