WHICH would you prefer? A fast electric kettle or one that takes ages to boil while you twiddle your thumbs?

And do you prefer a Hoover that has weak suction or a vacuum that has more powerful suction to keep your carpets clean?

Well the EU plans to make kettles that boil slower mandatory.

The EU has up to 30 household appliances in its sights.

While I am all for energy savings I do not think a substandard performance in an appliance is an improvement.

The EU needs to bring in these substandard appliances because it has caused an energy shortage by blowing up our perfectly adequate power stations.

Didcot Power Station did not emit any particulate air pollution as it had undergone substantial improvements to its chimney stacks.

Unlike motor vehicles with dirty diesel emissions, Didcot did not cause any respiratory ill health.

We are told that the EU is a great market for buying and selling motor cars which recent studies prove cause heart disease with their emissions.

An EU Directive is now indirectly and tragically responsible for the recent calamity at Didcot Power Station.

The EU executive club is not fit for purpose.
