A PLAN has appeared – seemingly from nowhere and yet backed by the Right Hon. Member for Witney – in which Oxfordshire County Council's abolition was proposed.

Coming so soon after the Prime Minister was embarrassed by the Conservative leader of the county council explaining to him why governmental cuts were necessarily causing Mr Cameron's constituents to suffer, are we really expected to believe that this is anything other than a vindictive act orchestrated by a man blinded to the damage his party is wreaking on the country?

WE HAVE been told over the past few months that many areas of Oxfordshire will be facing cuts. How do we get into this type of mess?

Well, firstly we get all the excuses from the "council experts". These people are paid very high salaries to keep Oxfordshire in good standing. Have we ever stopped to think that they never seem to blame the disasters on themselves? Is it their incompetence and lack of knowledge on how to actually do their job?

Even Prime Minister David Cameron did say the problem lies with senior council staff, that they haven't been making the right decisions, which has made them resort to extreme cutbacks.

Surely these people should be replaced by capable people in this type of occupation (and not amateurs). The people of Oxfordshire put a lot of hard earned cash into the vaults of Oxfordshire County Council and it should be used wisely and only by true professionals, not just to prop up councillors' extras.

Also get rid of all local councillors. It's a waste of money, especially for what they do (or don't do) and spend the money saved on something worthwhile. If we want to bring a problem up then we should do it ourselves to get the council's attention. It will be much quicker and cheaper than paying someone else to relay our problem.
