Care homes are not the solution to bed-blocking
HOW does moving so-called bed-blocking patients into care homes help hospitals in the long term?
As the home care service is not funded properly, the places will quickly fill up and the backlog will continue.
The home care system was suppose to relieve hospital and care home places, keep people in their own home, and be cheaper. Although for frailer people it might be a good, if reluctant option.
