THE two controversial pedestrian crossings being installed in Abingdon are nearing completion and we eagerly await the grand ‘switch-on’.
We were told these crossings are a condition for the development of new houses to be built on the Drayton Road.
Allegedly, the locations of these crossings will remove congestion of existing traffic, plus those spewing from the new houses.
Since the new houses are not yet built, may I respectfully remind all motorists there is a 30mph speed limit on the Drayton Road approaching Abingdon.
It will be a breath of fresh air not to have queues of traffic outside my front door every day – I can’t wait.
