IT IS said that we now live in a much faster world.
In some respects this is questionable.
The current road works in north Oxford are schedule to be completed by November 2016.
The four-and-a-half-mile railway line from Henley to Twyford was built to the broad gauge but in 1876 it was changed to the standard gauge and this was done overnight without the modern equipment available to our roadwork men.
