AS reported in the Oxford Mail, bus services faced severe delays last Friday, caused by roadworks on the Cutteslowe and Wolvercote Roundabouts, weather conditions and Friday traffic.

Stagecoach coped well with the delays. First of all they split the S5 I was on in two sections, with one bus taking passengers from Oxford to Cutteslowe and another bus taking over from there.

Secondly, they gave everyone a free ride. Thirdly the driver was helpful and told everyone what the situation was. Last of all they did their best to accommodate everyone and extended an S5 that was scheduled to terminate in Bicester town centre onwards to accommodate people who wanted to go further and were facing long waits for their bus.

All this was superior service on Stagecoach’s part. In a day where bus companies receive so many complaints it feels good to be able to say something positive.
