THERE is a dangerous point in central Abingdon where the pavement becomes very narrow as Ock Street merges into High street. Accidents have been known to happen here.

Currently the problem is intensified by cyclists riding along he pavement at dangerous speed.

I pointed this out to the community support police. They said they were aware of the problem, but nothing seems to have been done. On the last occasion when I encountered such a cyclist, I ventured to point out to him that this is a pavement. His reply cannot be printed in a local newspaper, involving two four-letter words of Anglo-Saxon origin.
