The future of the car factories is of prime importance to Oxford and I should like to use your columns to ask for answers regarding it.
I appreciate that the car manufacturers may not want to intervene in an election but, given that a huge percentage (at least 60 per cent) of BMW’s exports are to the EU, we voters really need to know whether, if a referendum says ‘No’ to remaining in the EU, will the car factories pull out and relocate to Europe?
This is an absolutely vital question for Oxford, and the car industry must surely have formulated a fallback strategy in the event of the UK leaving Europe.
Please can the Oxford Mail get us the answer?
