I hope Oxford University Hospitals Trust, which owns the site in Armstrong Road in Littlemore where the refused planning permission has been called in for review, will specially consider two things if it submits its next proposal for outline planning permission.

1) The things these people will need to have a quality of life that compares favourably with other parts of Oxford City.

At present this is an under served village so there will need to be a much more accessible GP Practice and a better bus service.

Oxfordshire County Council recommended a footbridge or tunnel crossing for the railway line as this would improve access to the local school, the 16 buses and shops, but no one seems interested.

2) Both the applicants and the planners need to be more forward looking in relation to buses coming into the city centre. Any transport impact study must not only consider what happens on the edge of town around the proposed site but also consider the impact on the city centre.

This must be taken into account before more house building is approved.

We have to look ahead and if it looks as if it is needed, we must stop enlarging Oxford because of transport issues.

No one will want Oxford to become clogged up so what else can we do except build tunnels, at enormous expense, under central Oxford?
