I THINK the people of Witney should be aware of NHS proposals (i.e.
the Government) regarding catering provision at the Witney Community Hospital.
It is proposed to close the hospital kitchen and provide chilled readycooked meals which would be brought in by lorry and reheated in the former kitchen.
This would deprive patients, doctors and nurses, also visitors to the hospital of wholesome, freshlycooked meals prepared on the premises.
I think this would be an appalling retrograde step in patient care.
If these proposals were to be implemented, it would probably be in June of this year (i.e. after the General Election).
I would be interested to know of David Cameron’s views on these proposals.
