WE ARE often told by Conservative and Lib-Dem MPs that privatisation would deliver better and more efficient service to the public.

The recent privatisation of the postal service organised by the Lib-Dem MP Vince Cable for the coalition Government has not produced the service we expected.

In fact, the service has gone haywire making a nonsense of the first and second class post.

Chris Boswell pointed out that the post appears to be delivered at different times of the day (March 5).

We now also receive letters wrongly delivered to us which are addressed for someone else living on the estate.

Some postboxes have been removed and collection times have been altered, making access to those remaining extremely inconvenient.

The postbox at Sainsbury’s, Heyford Hill, which was very well used, was removed without announcement.

The General Election will soon be upon us and there are many who will be casting their vote by post.

What assurance have we got that our postal vote will be delivered on time and counted?

We need to be convinced that we are not wasting our time and vote.
