WE note with interest your report that Chilton Railways held a public meeting on February 17 to share its plans for the station and to consult on a possible name change.

It is very concerning that so few people knew of this meeting, including the county councillors for our town!

Had we been aware we would have attended and spoken strongly in favour of maintaining the current name of ‘Bicester Town’ , maybe at a push ‘Bicester Town, and Village’.

To call the station ‘Bicester Village’ not only denies the existence of the town of Bicester, but would in our view be an insult to those of us who actually live here.
