Delays to opening seem suspicious to me Am I alone in believing there may be a political motive behind the delay in opening the new Bicester Community Hospital?

We are advised that the developers of this building completed their work in August 2014. We have since been advised that the delay in opening the building is due to “snagging” issues. Three months or so for snagging seems very strange.

One suspects that it is more likely due to the fact that the current Government is struggling with credibility regarding their mismanagement of the NHS and would look for any opportunity for a “good news” story in 2015 before the General Election.

The building of a modern community hospital would normally be good news, but in this case it is too little and now very much too late.

Today’s letters

Bicester’s population is now almost three times what it was when a 12-bedroomed hospital seemed adequate and in 20 years’ time Bicester will have a population of another 20,000 people.

The new hospital will be welcomed but will it be inadequate for a growing “Garden City”?
