I’ve read a couple of comments recently dismissing the 1,000 objections to the Botley West Way plans as not a majority of residents.
I agree that many people will have views but either don’t bother to express them, aren’t sure how to, or simply don’t get around to doing so.
It takes time and effort to study the plans, check facts, compose your thoughts and then email, post them or navigate the council website.
If you support the plans, however, then developers Doric Properties made it easy for you: “just click here”, “it takes two minutes” their website proclaims.
Today’s letters
They do all that bothersome sending on to the council for you too. Still they only got around 150 supportive comments. So let’s give some credit to the 1,000 residents who spent time and effort expressing their views on the future of their community and realise that silence does not equal support.
