Jim Wright, a disabled man aged 92, wrote to you (October 1) to point out that there are no seats at some bus stops.

I entirely agree with his concern. I am younger than Mr Wright but I also find it very difficult to stand for more than a minute or two.

The problem is not confined to bus stops. Many shops and supermarkets have no seats for customers waiting at a counter or in a queue.

Worst of all is the situation at clinics in some local hospitals, where one may have to stand waiting a long while to check in. As people in such queues are likely to be unwell or disabled, it would be nice if hospitals remembered to provide adequate seating to let patients take the weight off their feet.
