I don’t think fluoride should be added to tap water as the type of fluoride which they add is fluorosilicic acid, which is toxic waste from the chimney scrubbers of phosphate fertiliser factories.
This is more toxic than lead and only slightly less so than arsenic. This industrial waste is also contaminated with arsenic, mercury and lead etc, unlike the fluoride in toothpaste which is of pharmaceutical grade.
A total of 50 per cent of children in fluoridated areas suffer dental fluorosis – permanent mottling and staining of teeth caused by too much fluoride.
It goes against all medical ethics to medicate whole communities regardless of need or individual choice. Any medication should be targeted at those who need it.
Today’s letters
The American Dental Association warned that babies feeds should not be made up using fluoridated water and that a no/low fluoride bottled water should be used for this.
But think of the expense to parents and the plastic waste.
