The news that the supply and display of the road tax disc is to be discontinued to save £10 million pounds a year made me smile.
The road tax and licensing centre was set up in Wales to replace the then existing local road tax and licence system because, it was claimed, that placing the tax and licensing in Wales would save money.
It actually costs eight times as much to run. How many more cost “saving” schemes can we afford?
