The news is full of people who are being refused jobs/ losing positions/being suspended because of ‘inappropriate’ comments they have made in emails or on social media.
Social media is in the public domain and fair game but a lot of this revolves around ‘private’ emails. Whilst I’m not condoning the offending remarks should we not also be worried about the intrusive means being used to harvest the stories? Has it now become acceptable in this democracy that all our communications are watched by Big Brother? National security is one thing but under that umbrella the thought police seem to be having a heyday.
