Rob Perkins (‘Everything is grinding to a halt at roundabout’, August 4) makes an excellent observation of the chaos and anarchy at Hinksey Hill roundabout. Firstly, one has to ask ‘where are the traffic police?’ Secondly, if the ‘traffic control’ cameras were actually controlled by people who record the registration numbers of every driver using a mobile, and breaking other laws like speeding, with fines imposed as a result, the government could pay off the national debt within a week.
The current situation is that ‘traffic control’ cameras do nothing to control traffic and the resulting chaos continues unabated.
