I'M NOT a frequent traveller on trains, but can appreciate the frustrations outlined in Alex Wynick’s report (‘We should get a better service for the price we pay, August 11).
When buying a coach ticket everyone is guaranteed to have a seat. Rail companies are allowed to sell expensive rail tickets for a journey that does not include provision of a seat, resulting in lots standing where they can.
It is frustrating that train providers can get away with making fat profits in this way by failing to put on enough carriages.
