PERHAPS the most appropriate words to use in commenting on Oxford City Council’s ruling which led to the cancellation of the Cowley Road Passion Play, are those of Shakespeare’s when he said: ‘Man, proud man, drest in a little brief authority.... plays such fantastic tricks before high Heaven as makes the angels weep!’ (Measure for Measure).
