I LISTENED to a recent programme on local radio on the EU after the Clegg-Farage debate. The Liberal representative made a comment that the EU had kept the peace in Europe and that this year we are ‘celebrating’ the start of World War One.
I would point out to this lady that it is Nato, i.e. Britain and America, that has kept the peace in Europe and she and her party may be ‘celebrating’ the start of World War One but a vast majority of us will be ‘commemorating’ this event in history.
I would like to ask her what there is to ‘celebrate’ about one of the most bloody conflicts in history?
As usual the out-of-touch Liberals are as wrong about this as they are about their obsession with the EU.
I am confident that after the performance of their hapless leader during the debates with Mr Farage they will be lucky to fill a two-seater car with their MEPs to make the journey to Brussels.
I may add that none of the panellists except UKIP acknowledged that a vast majority of the people in this country want a referendum on EU membership now.
