FURTHER to your article dated Wednesday, March 5, regarding the West Way proposal.
We are very disappointed to read that Matthew Barber, leader of the Vale of the White Horse, seems to have tied his colours to the mast (or the Doric mast) somewhat prematurely.
The closing date for the objections is the end of March and surely as the Chairman of the Vale of White Horse, he should be seen to be considering any objections to the redevelopment before voicing his opinions in public.
As landlords of the shopping precinct, and the Vale also being the decision-makers in giving the consent, there is already a strong conflict of interest, and so his latest comments appear to be a fait accompli.
