I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with Mark Pritchard (August 28) that the RSPCA would acquire further integrity if it renounced its royal patronage. The fact is that the Queen’s devotion to animals does not seem to extend beyond her beloved corgis and racehorses. Members of the monarchy appear to derive their maximum relaxation on vacations from shooting birds. The RSPCA stands for the protection and welfare of all creatures, both wild and tame.
