LIKE the majority of people, I do not want badgers killed.
A few years ago I read about the National Trust who were running a badger tuberculosis vaccination programme in an area which is a hotspot for the disease in cattle.
As well as explaining how this would be done, it gave details of what it would cost the National Trust. It would be interesting to know what the people employed to shoot the badgers will be paid, and how it compares with the cost of vaccination. I am sure the marksmen will not be doing it for love. Also could someone explain why badgers are not dying of TB if they are such prolific carriers? They have to get it from somewhere first: could it be from the cows?
