IT’S a headline I’m sure many of David Cameron’s opponents would love to see – a declaration of his resignation.

And I’m sure many readers of the Wales Online website on Monday would have been happy to believe their story which did indeed announce the PM and Witney MP had stepped down.

The online story promised updates as the Government was “rocked by the news” of his resignation.

Bosses at the website have admitted their mistake – a training exercise “never intended to see the light of day”.

But I’m sure the mistake was online long enough for more than a few lefties to pop open the Champagne...

ONCE again councillors are planning to overrule one of the city’s planning committees.

Unhappy with a decision to throw out plans to build a new home at 81 Edgeway Road in Marston, a cross-party effort to have the case reviewed has been revealed.

It turns out the “call-in” of the bid to the city’s planning review committee was made by Green Sam Hollick supported by fellow Greens Craig Simmons and David Williams.

But in an unusual show of bi-partisan co-operation, the bid has also won the support of Lib Dems Ruth Wilkinson, Tony Brett, John Goddard and Jean Fooks alongside council leader Bob Price and other Labour councillors Oscar Van-Nooijen, Anne-Marie Canning, Shah Khan, Pat Kennedy and James Fry.

Marston independent councillor Mick Haines has also put his name on the documents.

They must all have their reasons for wanting it back on the table, but questions will once again be asked about the legitimacy of such a move.

I’M sure most councillors can boast an impressive and colourful spam email folder – no doubt made up of constituents’ complaints.

But Marston Labour city councillor Mary Clarkson has informed the twittersphere of a rather unusual set of correspondence.

She said: “My email spam today has included Russian Singles dating, light bulbs and an all-terrain wheelbarrow.”
