Post office move 'would be disaster'
Quite how any organisation with a virtual monopoly in a prime town centre location cannot manage its business effectively is something of a mystery.
Thatcherism was about the price of everything, but the value of very little. The Crown Post Office is a service, not a commodity and needs to be maintained as such.

That's £399,000 not £399, now that would have perhaps been a help for those struggling with the mortgage ladder. Its not there are no homes available, its that there are no AFFORDABLE homes in the whole of the country. Look at the map produced by the latest research to show you that there is no where in this country first time buyers on average income can actually buy. Our greed is also making humans and wildlife suffer in every way.Nonsense.
Just check Belfast, Hull, Middlesbrough, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Lochgelly, Luton, Bradford & Southend on Sea and you'll find homes that can be bought for as little as 2.0 times local average income.
People want to live in Oxford though, which pushes prices up. Until the CPRE consent to more Social Housing being built in Oxfordshire prices will continue to rise (and the home owning members of the CPRE will continue to enjoy the growth in value of their assets.)

110 Oxfam jobs to go
after the Grangemouth climb down by the unions , the green light has been shown for all sorts of lay offs and changes in terms of employment, at Oxfam there has been a bit lax with regard to expenditure and value for money, as the economy starts to climb out of recession these instances only highlight the fragility of our recovery and worst still our charity fatigue, people wherever they go are bombarded by the charity fund raisers rightly or wrongly people have had to change their spending plans, so a streamlining at Oxfam was almost inevitable along with most other organisations, having said that, if the boss's salary was chopped by £25K, that would be one post saved !
