Bicester B and North Oxford D went into their Oxfordshire LTA Inter-Club League Mixed Division 3 clash boasting 100 per cent records – and are both still unbeaten after playing out a 2-2 draw.

The Bicester B first pair of Ashley Prior and Sue Wakelin proved too strong for North Oxford, beating Mike & Antonia Bruce 7-5, 6-4, and Hans Bakker and Nicky Maskens 6-1, 6-2.

Both North Oxford pairs, however, struck back with 6-1, 6-4 and 6-4, 6-4 wins respectively over Bicester’s second pair of Beryl Mann and Grant Munday.

Cholsey B went top of the pile after their quartet of Sandra Marlin, Fred Marlin, Maureen Leggs and Nigel White overcame the previously undefeated Faringdon.

Goring and North Oxford B have already staked a strong claim to occupy the top two places in the Violet League – and a place in Division 1 next season – after 4-0 wins over Kings Sutton and Benson B respectively.

Appleton continue to dominate Men’s Division 5, having won all three games so far, dropping just a set in the process.

Graeme Campbell, Paul Haines, David Stepney and Duncan Todd were the men in form.
