THE Davis Cup, won by Great Britain last year, will be on show at the White Horse Tennis & Leisure Centre, Abingdon on Thursday, May 26.

As part of the Davis Cup legacy, the LTA organised training of selected coaches in Abingdon this week, led by Davis Cup captain Leon Smith.

These will enable coaches to deliver free lessons this summer to children aged eight and under.

l NORTH Oxford took a big stride towards winning the Men’s Premier Division 1 title in the Babolat Thames Valley Winter League with a 6-2 over main rivals Oxford Sports.

The result gives North an eight-set lead over Sports.

Tamala Andreski, of Wantage, served four consecutive aces against North Oxford B in the final set to secure a 5-3 home win and pull Wantage out of relegation danger in Ladies’ Division 1
