HENRY Henman lived up to his famous tennis name by winning the Virgin Active 8 & under tournament in Oxford.

Henman, from Barnard Gate, who is the nephew of former world No 4 Tim, saw off Gloucestershire’s Spencer Moore 10-0 in the boys’ final.

In the girls’ event, Maria Ustic (Oxford) was runner-up after losing 10-2 to Rowan Vallance from Leicestershire.

NORTH Oxford won 7-1 at Oxford Sports B to stretch their lead at the top of the Thames Valley Winter League Men’s Premier Division to eight points.

Second and third-placed Woodstock and Oxford Sports slugged it out, with Sports bagging a 5-3 away win.

It’s much tighter in the ladies’ top flight, with North Oxford’s 5-3 defeat at Blewbury leaving them joint first with 18 points, but only two points separate the top six teams.

Division 2 leaders Wychwoods were pegged back by a 4-4 draw against Portcullis B.

This allowed Mapledurham to join them at the top with a 5-3 win over Benson.

Woodstock B, who defeated Faringdon 5-3, are a point off the lead.

Henley and Watlington enjoyed 7-1 wins to head Division 3, but David Lloyd drew Oxford Sports B, so drop into third place.
