Oxford RL coach Tony Benson is urging his side to extend their season.

Oxford make the short trip to the Hemel Stags on Sunday in the first round of the elimination play-offs.

The winners head into the next round, while for the losers, the season is over.

And Benson is hoping his side carry on where they left off in the thrilling draw with London Skolars last week.

“It is all about us and putting in another big performance,” he said.

“We have built a good foundation over recent weeks and now have to push on.

“There is certainly more to come.”

He added: “I am proud of the club of what we have achieved this season.

“Getting into the end-of-season play-offs, considering we did not have a club until October, is a major achievement from everybody in the club.”

Captain Alex Thompson feels that his side is in with a good chance if they play to their full capability. “We have a massive game at Hemel, but if we play like we did on Sunday we can certainly win and be a real threat in these play-off matches.”

Sean Morris faces a fitness test on a wrist injury, while Dave Ellison is back in training after a broken cheekbone.
