SHANE Cahill has no regrets about signing for London Welsh, despite their dismal losing run.

The 27-year-old prop left Cornish Pirates to join the Exiles’ this summer, so has yet to taste a competitive victory with his new club.

“Welsh were the team coming up,” said Cahill.

“Everyone knew it wasn’t going to be easy. It would be a hard job to avoid relegation.

“I knew what the story was when I signed for the club and I’m really happy to be here.

“It’s a big challenge for us, but it is also a big opportunity.”

Cahill is one of 15 Welsh players unavailable for tomorrow’s clash with Leicester due to injury.

And while he knows many have already written off Welsh’s season, Cahill says they can prove the doubters wrong.

“We have got to keep our heads up and work hard in training,” he said.

“This week will be a great opportunity to turn things around.

“We are underdogs and we have got to use that.”

Assistant coach Gordon Ross said: “There is a lot of hurt among the players and the management after the Wasps defeat.

“We have got to use that anger to our advantage and make it a positive against one of the best teams in England.”
